Handwaved CR Meme!
Howdy, folks!!
Since a bunch of us were chatting in the Discord about it, figured I'd take initiative and set up a ✨handwaved CR meme✨!
How does it work? Simple! Post a top-level as your player name, and subheads with character/canon in the subject line and do a brief rundown of their personality/job (if applicable)/general places they hang out/their interests, any other relevant information or notable features, and let 'er rip!
Example:
Now let's get this show on the road, pumpkins!

Example:
Rowan Fizzbin | OC
Rowan is a faun with a small rack of deer horns, one purple llama leg (their right) and one magical prosthetic (left leg, looks like sleek white plastic with glowing bits). They are likely to be found in the library, pestering anyone who looks interesting around town, and learning everything they can about the local magic and how it interacts with the magic and skills of everyone else. If you look different than baseline human, they would probably be very interested in chatting with (and perhaps prodding at) you.
Now let's get this show on the road, pumpkins!

Kitty Callahan | OC
Important: Kitty is an atmospheric thaumatophage, which means she is constantly drawing magic from the world around her at a very low level. She cannot turn this off. Unless someone is extremely sensitive to that kind of thing, they probably wouldn't notice. If someone were to look at her aura or similar, they'd get an impression of local magic swirling into her like a trickle of water circling a bathtub drain. If she spends a lot of time around "tainted" magic (e.g. demonic/eldritch stuff, active use of Fear powers) she'll start to feel unwell and get migraines, and if it goes on for too long she'll pass out.

Deon Wilson | Chappie (Ryslig CRAU)
Deon is a manticore, with caracal ears, a lion's tail with a scorpion stinger at the end, and kestrel's wings. He also has robot antennae where human ears would be, and a robotic orange left arm. As fearsome as he may look, he's a friendly sort! He's shy and awkward and you may have seen him in town on a supply run or checking out the bulletin board.
He can also turn into a caracal with kestrel wings, no bigger than a regular caracal, so if you've seen one around, that's probably him. He also has a monstrous form which is likely to show up at the Gala, but he's kept it from showing up so far. Pine Devil......2!!!
(On future plotting: He was until very recently in what I shall bluntly call a cult so if anyone wants to deal with him wrestling with that I am open to it.)
Alex Conklin | Bourne novels
Alex is an Enforcer, so if your character is one or interacts with them, they probably at least know him in passing.
Important Content Note: Alex is blunt about his disability and is also a recovering alcoholic.

Miles Upshur | Outlast
He can be found frequenting the library, trying to get into the mysteries of the island, and chatting with anyone who crosses his path.
Miles is missing one finger on each hand - fully missing his ring finger on his left hand and missing his right index finger down to the proximal phalange. He can be self-conscious about it but since he's had to deal with it for a while, he's mostly used to it.
He's usually seen in the company of a Ralts - his name is Terry and Miles dotes on the little fella. He even carries Terry around in a makeshift baby bjorn type device.
Outlast endgame spoilers/notes for Those Who Might Notice Something's Off With The Lad: Miles is no longer entirely human! He is the host to a bunch of evil corporate science nanites called the Walrider. He may soon be able to control sending it out but right now he is terrified of it. Those who have the ability to sense such things might, and someone with a very strong sense of smell - like a canine sense of smell - may also notice that there's a metallic scent to him. He has also briefly gone mad, canonically, so his grip on reality may be tenuous at best when he's under a great deal of stress.

Sentis
Don Quixote | Limbus Company
Don Quixote spends most of her day working at a seaweed farm owned by Agent Jean, though after hours she'll make the trip to the town proper to get up to various shenanigans. Some of those include wandering about the beach, attending parties, going to the library to borrow books about chivalry and heroism, frequenting the ice cream shop, or enacting vigilante justice upon evildoers/troublemakers she encounters.
She has an immense fixation on Fixers, of which are essentially mercenaries of hire in her world that which she delusionally believes to be heroes of Justice (though this is not entirely false either). She has a nigh encyclopedic knowledge on such a topic, and if one gives her the opportunity, she'll speak at immense length about them enthusiastically. If one has stories of heroes from their world (or is one themselves), it's quite easy to get Don's admiration and she'll demand to hear more of such tales. She's also quite into cosplay (particularly of Fixers), with her currently wearing a coat with near identical resemblance to that of Kali the Red Mist, a famous Fixer within her world of which she idolizes.
Note: Don is also a Bloodfiend, in layman's terms a Vampire, though she neither burns in the sun nor is undead. This is perfectly concealed by her wearing her shoes Rocinante, of which she never willingly takes off. In the event such occurs though, she'll seem as if she were a completely different person, though she has little desire to cause trouble, only wishing to reunite oncemore with Rocinante so she may continue to live as Don Quixote.
Harvey!
Jonathan Sims | The Magnus Archives
He's what one could affectionately call a "recovering dickhead," and is, albeit awkwardly, trying to put his best foot forward with people. He's quick to try to try to lend a hand with things around town, has a moderately nosy streak, and is easily swept up in other people's shenanigans.
Occasionally, he's prone to being an indignant asshole, especially during shenanigans.Though he's a little bit of a homebody when he's on shore leave (2 weeks out of the month), frequent locations to find him are a handful of local cafés, the Greymare Library, and occasionally, the Oak & Iron, when prompted to have drinks with friends. Though he isn't prone to hiking, he's a frequent visitor of several of the nature trails near the Bluffs.
As an Avatar of the Eye, Jon is both compelled to take statements from people (long recollections of witnessed terrors and traumatic incidents, of the supernatural and seemingly mundane variety) and witness horrifying events occurring. Last month, he fell into a bit of a stint of pulling them from random strangers, leaving his public perception not great. He's slowly beginning to try to make amends for that, but it's a process.
Laios Touden | Dungeon Meshi
He's a golden retriever of a man, brimming with enthusiasm, especially with this community that he's feeling especially embraced by. Everyone here is friendly, and while he can let himself blend into a crowd from time to time, he's more prone to striking up conversation than he's ever been. His deepest, lifelong passion is for monsters, though he's fairly reserved about getting into that. Once you've reached friendship deep enough or a situation comes up where he's got the opportunity to get into that, all bets are off. (He's also very fond of animals in general, especially dogs!)
Having been part of a dungeoneering party back in his home, Laios has a taste for adventure, and will frequently join up any groups making journeys out into Paradesium, Lockwood Forest, or just about anywhere else they might need to go. He's also training as a druid in Mairi Miann's druid circle, and frequently runs around in assorted wildshapes - his favorite among them is a silver/white wolf, but he'll occasionally take the shapes of some of his favorite Paradesium creatures, such as the Silkhide Chimeras, Resplendent Pygmy Drakes, and Glowtail Jaguars.

Cameo
Bastion | Overwatch 1 (Come Sail Away CRAU)
They're introverted, skittish, kind of pessimistic, and socially awkward, but they don't mind interacting with people if they don't have to do it too much and they enjoy trying new things. They're more comfortable in the company of nonhumans; they were built to wage war against humans, so they both trust humans less on a conscious level and have to deal with their over-sensitised wartime-built threat assessment system grading humans and humanoids as more relevant threats than fantasy creatures, talking animals, or fellow inorganic beings. They also spent a year and a half starved for living plants and animals in the sterile pocket dimension of their CRAU, so they're grateful for how much nature there is around the island.
They make a living as a mushroom and berry forager, since they spend most of their time meandering around in the woods anyway, and they keep chickens. They only need to sleep about once every four days, so they're usually as active at night as during the day. Anything that threatens their chickens gets a warning shot and then a regular shot fired at it. This has previously included a Cacturne that refused to be scared away even after Bastion killed it, with which they've since formed a truce. They also have a Togetic that they raised from a Togepi; it just recently evolved.
Note: Bastion's combat programming is likely to activate in response to apparent deadly threats, and it regards humans with the physical condition to wield a firearm as potential threats at minimum, whereas it usually ignores nonhumans unless they're attacking; while their combat programming is active, anyone who actually threatens Bastion with a projectile weapon... or tries to rescue them from a monster they're fighting by shooting it or blowing it up... is likely to get shot. Unexpected gunshots and explosions close by will get them alerted and anxious but they'll generally be able to stop themself at that point if the situation doesn't escalate further; suddenly taking significant damage is more likely to activate their combat protocols instantly. It is at least obvious when this happens if you've seen them even once before, since all their optics turn bright red and their body language becomes much more rigid and economical.
*It is considered rude to refer to an omnic as "a robot" in their world unless you're making some sort of point about similarities between different types of robots, because using such a nonspecific term lumps together sapient artificial intelligences, semi-self-aware automata, and nonsentient appliances that operate automatically, like, say, Roombas. Omnic is a genericised trademark originating from the Omnica Corporation that's come to refer to any mechanical person with a mobile body. "Bot" is much ruder than "robot". Bastion informs people of the polite term if they call them a robot, since they don't expect offworlders to know the intricacies of their world's terminology.

Wilson P. Higgsbury | Don't Starve series (Come Sail Away CRAU)
He's very grouchy and stubborn, not to mention blunt, but he's a decent person under all the grumbling and complaining and shoving his foot in his mouth and he's very inquisitive.
He hasn't been able to use his chemistry degree for much in the last few years because he was stranded in a haunted wilderness dimension and then on the Come Sail Away cruise ship, so having the opportunity to work in a lab again is very exciting. When he's not at work or the Ocularum he's often in the library. Wilson is also easily lured by the promise of free food and will show up to basically any public event that has a buffet or similar even if nothing else about it appeals to him.

The Ancient Fuelweaver | Don't Starve Together (variant Come Sail Away CRAU)
The Fuelweaver is polite and civically minded outside of extreme circumstances like his canon boss fight, but he's also grim and pessimistic and has a very ominous way of phrasing things. He really doesn't like eldritch forces or poorly secured portals.
He's Mulcahy's best friend from their shared CRAU; they were both on the evil cruise ship and in the Village.
To be honest, he doesn't get out much aside from his job, although he recently joined the Historical Society as part of his search for answers about why the island is so full of dark magic. (Which is also why he went to the cult dinner even though he knew it was a bad idea.)

Moiré Myrekrig | Changeling: the Lost 1e
She's blunt and straightforward and doesn't have much social finesse, although she excels at keeping her cool under pressure and maintaining a poker face.
She doesn't have a job so far and hasn't moved out of the Oak & Iron, but she's on the lookout for opportunities to use her 2D art and animation skills professionally, that being basically the only thing she was particularly good at in her own time and world that has a use at this tech level. Please hire her to draw things.

The Purple Impostor | Among Us OC + Lethal Company as a sort of CRAU
They're charming, easygoing company apart from their weirdly intense privacy boundaries but it's difficult to get them to take problems that don't affect them seriously and even when they do they often don't act like they are. Despite this they have a solid work ethic, when they decide to use it. Violence comes easily to them.
Purple is a carnivorous shapeshifting alien who's taken a humanoid form for camouflage and convenience, and while this alone makes their species unpopular where they come from, they have a checkered past above and beyond what's strictly necessary to survive and maintain their cover. They feel a sense of inherent fellowship and solidarity with other shapeshifters, especially the ones who can alter their form on an open-ended or ad-hoc basis instead of having two or three fixed forms.
They haven't really been here long enough to have specific haunts when they're on shore leave; they'll spend an evening anywhere that looks interesting.

Nimona | Nimona (2023) + Sail CRAU
She also used to be extremely touchy about anybody calling her a monster. While that changed a bit due to her CRAU in Sail, where she met a bunch of people who wore the "monster" label proudly, it's still very much a case of "only certain people are allowed to call me that without getting their faces bitten off."
She lives at the Oak & Iron, where you might run into her as a bright pink talking cat, dog, rat, or songbird during your visit. She likes to go after easy marks -- as much as the staff lets her get away with it, anyway -- for little pranks or attempts to steal/beg food off them. If your character regularly ventures into the woods, you also might spot a pink deer, panther, or wolf running around there... or just something big that vanishes before you get too close.

Felix Gaeta | Battlestar Galactica (2003)
He works at the library's circulation desk, so if you've been there, you've probably seen him! The guy knows his shit -- he's been compiling subject guides and finding aids for the less-accessible parts of the collection for a while now, so if you talk to him, he might be able to dig up some more obscure resources for you. He's also a member of the Ocularum, so if you are, too, you might've seen him around those meetings.

Radar O'Reilly | M*A*S*H
That said! The most likely places you'll find him are Town Hall or Leeds Manor, since he's Dahlia's personal assistant. He doesn't handle the day-to-day paperwork at Town Hall too much anymore, but he'll help you out as much as he can and get you pointed in the right direction. On most weekends, he's also up at Baker Ranch helping out around the farm. You might spot him in the company of a couple members of his menagerie: TJ, a Dachsbun, and/or Treble, a Clefairy, both recently evolved from a Fidough and Cleffa respectively. (He also has a rabbit named Nibbles, but Nibbles usually stays home because he's not as well trained as the other two.)
Overall, he's a earnest softie with a mischievous streak, and a huge animal lover. If you're psychically-inclined, you might also pick up that he's a low-key untrained psychic. But he doesn't exactly keep that a secret, so if you ask how the hell he knew [xyz thing], he'll probably explain!

Dedue Molinaro | FE3H + Sail CRAU
He is still trying to figure out what he’s doing in Pumpkin Hollow. However, he was inspired by Claude’s birthday feast and is trying to raise funds for a cultural center that preserves knowledge about different cultures represented in Pumpkin Hollow and would also have an attached restaurant. He’s looking for a regular job in the meantime but nothing has been decided yet. Dedue loves cooking, sewing, and gardening. He’s also experienced with weapons and armor.

Marcille Donato | Dungeon Meshi
Marcille is very studious and inquisitive about how magic works. She will want to know all about the Pumpkin Hollow lore. She is also probably going to be interested in meeting Laios’ CR.
