I know...

[There's a small, uncertain smile on Chris's face.] I worry. About being too much trouble. And sometimes, even if I do want to talk to people... to you... I worry about adding too much when you've already got so much on your plate.

[Oh, Chris...]

I'd rather help you carry that burden, even if it's difficult, than realize later you'd been struggling alone.

[After a moment, slowly and hesitantly, First Aid adds,]

I've never spoken about this to anyone outside my team and my Prime, but I once quit the Autobots.

[Chris looks surprised at that, and asks for clarification,] The whole faction?

Mm-hm. Not for very long, just a couple days, but...I quit the whole thing. [He ducks his head a little, embarrassed.] I exiled myself to a junkyard, actually. It was kind of melodramatic.

Oh, Aidie... why a junkyard?

I felt... [Oh, Chris is going to HATE this. But there's a point to the story, if they can just get there.] I felt like that was where I belonged. Which I know wasn't true, before you say anything! But because I failed to act, another Autobot was hurt. And it could have been avoided, if my team and I had asked for help ahead of time.

[Chris squeezes their arms around First Aid, hugging with all their might for a long moment.] You're a good guy, Aidie.

[Chris doesn't want to make promises or belabor the point, but... they feel better about maybe coming to First Aid when they have worries or problems. Shared burdens are lightened, right?]

[lovinglefthand]

I try to be. [First Aid hugs Chris back, as gently yet firmly as they can.] And I want to be a good friend to you, a good...a good sibling. Which means supporting each other. So don't hold back, okay?

[He pets Chris's hair.] I hate to think of you feeling as lost and alone as I did.
