"Ah." Eddie nods sagely, "Clearly the one about watching them sleep peacefully is about Thread."

He gives Angel a wink after he says it.

[graveling]

"Clearly." Angel laughs, reaching out to tousle Eddie's hair lightly. "Though once I do what Mortanne said, try to sleep again, I look forward to joining you in resting."

"I'll make sure the pillows are extra fluffy then."

Eddie moves closer, tucking himself against Angel's side with the ease of repeated practice. He always feels better they're in contact.

[graveling]

"You're going to spoil me."

As if fluffy pillows are a complete indulgence, right?

[batteryacid]

"You would resist all spoilage, Angel. You're too sweet." Eddie hugs him. "Besides, taking care of you isn't spoiling."

[graveling]

"Some sweet things do spoil! Cakes get moldy if you leave them out too long without eating them."

Not honey, though. He's learned that in his research.

Eddie could argue that Angel is being too literal. But he only laughs fondly and gives Angel an extra squeeze. "That's fair. But I think you'd be difficult to spoil."

He kisses Angel's cheek and says softly, "I want to give you all the good things I can, because I like making you happy."
