The utterance of the word imp comes with a softness that's dripping from his voice: tender and amused and loving.
"I'm friends with the daughter of a faerie king, and a servant of the goddess, so I've been able to avoid too much trouble." he continues. "Well...that and I've kinda been joining in."
He looks over his shoulder with a knowing expression.
"I've been you, soldier: they don't teach whimsy in basic, and they beat easygoing right out of you. You want to avoid having that butterfly thing happen again? You need to get those back."
