Thank goodness no one who knows what's going on can see her face, with the way that flush darkens her cheeks instantly. She tries not to look as so thoroughly embarrassed as she feels, which just leaves her looking twice as awkward about it.

She doesn't particularly want to elaborate, but it isn't as though she hasn't been dwelling on it enough to have thoughts, and Melanie's never especially been the type to let a vague answer be well enough. "About as complicated as saying yes all of those assumptions at various points in time is. I don't have a better word for it. Or... any specific word, really."
