Bart stops himself from pointing out that it's just a turn of phrase, merely nodding and looking back at the little spirit that seems to be quickly making friends with his pokemon. He pauses briefly to introduce the two of them, telling Melody the name he'd given Dou Zhai then standing back to watch the retrieval of that little gift, which the chikorita immediately takes to carry around in its mouth, chirping happily to itself.

Bart listens to Chris's explanation, glancing back at the Yamask with a slight shiver. What a terrible fate, to be stuck in this kind of form when you were once just a normal person... He hopes that she's at least content before Chris helps her.

"I think if there's anyone suited to the job, it would certainly be you," Bart replies with a nod. "Is there anything that we can do to help?"
