Chris reads a request for solitude in the statement, so they give Sam a little bow and a smile. "You're welcome. Most people are friendly enough to point you in the right direction if you get lost, by the way. See you around!"

And they walk off, humming the same song as before.

...if Sam watches long enough, he might see Chris stop, turn to look toward some empty space, and then go running off with purpose. Just another weird moment from Chris, the other Pumpkin Hollow residents will assume.
