Chris doesn't react much to the way that Sam moves behind him and then away and back again, but their eyes do slide to track that movement whenever he appears in their peripheral vision.

"They lead out of town, too, depending on which way you face," Chris points out, then they smile, "but yes."

Chris looks and listens carefully before crossing the train tracks. It's not until the two are both safely across that they ask Sam, "Do you see the ghosts?"
