Sam shifts in the sand, glancing around to make sure that he's not about to step on anything, then plunks himself right down on a rock and starts to search about his person for anything that might have come with him. He had been so convinced before that he'd been dreaming before he'd made his way out toward the woods to sit and get his bearings that finding only his nonfunctional odradek was alarming, to say the least. One of the many downsides of being a very "go along to get along" type, that he'd given a halfhearted agreement to the white-haired woman's terms just to get out of the same room.
