"I died the first time in... 2014, I believe," Gerard says without batting an eye. "And then again _properly_ in--- Oh god, what year was it, actually? I'll have to ask Jon Sims, the one other person here I knew from before. He was there and I was too busy being a book to perceive time normally."
He fails to elaborate. But at least he is clearly unfazed by death. In fact, he speaks about it a bit too candidly.
"Anyway, I was from Morden, which was a district of London, but I was travelling for work when I died the first time. We were in Pittsburgh," he carries on. "It was a brain tumor, can you believe that? I fought monsters and cults dedicated to evil gods of primal terror my entire goddamn life, ran around the world stopping apocalypses and chasing cursed books, and something as mundane as cancer gets me. I died in a hospital, for Christ's sake."
