"Jon's a decent sort. He's involved with the Eye as well, just a heads up," Gerry recommends. " I think he and Daisy are friends from back home. I never met her while I was alive. Ships passing and all that."

Gerry keeps prattling, unaware of her annoyance. He's not misunderstanding her on purpose, but her knowing that would hinge on her understanding how she sounds to him, given his history. He's got no inkling of her opinion of him, but it won't break his heart. Most people don't like him, and he's under no illusions he's done anything to earn otherwise.

"I think that's it... I did notice there was a Spiral type running around, but he's American, so I don't think he's connected to us any deeper than that."
