The room on the other side of the door had the very telling appearance of a living room that someone had tried to arrange to look like a waiting room of a doctor's office. There were a pair of couches on either side of a coffee table, a stone fireplace, a small table with a pitcher of water and some cups, and a writing desk arranged into a makeshift counter that separated the doorway to the rest of the home from the space. A man was sitting at the desk with a cup of tea that had long since gone cold sitting in front of him. He had been leaning against the desk when Tandy walked in, wholly asleep on the job and only startling to life when she opened the door. His glasses still sat slanted on his face as he stood to greet her.
"Apologies, miss, I wasn't sure if I was to expect any other visitors today," he said. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
