They're from approximately the same time period, so Dennis definitely knows the old D.A.R.E. programs, and how they didn't help shit. What's surprising, though, is the look that Leon gives him. It doesn't have the same feeling that the pitying-but-judgemental types do. Instead it's just a "that's rough, buddy" sort of feeling that's easier to cope with, and less enraging.

The offer is surprising, though. "Uh...yeah. Yeah, I'll look into it," he replies distractedly. "If someone comes up acting all friendly I'll just warn 'em and if they push it, it's not gonna be my fault if I can spit their bullshit back at them."
