What they both seem to be unaware of is the simple fact that they would both be miserable without the other. Too bad they're both too dumb and in their own heads to realize it.

"They'd hate it but I wouldn't have it any other way." The words are said with a smile as he takes another long drink. It's true. His parents hadn't been exceptionally happy when the two had started dating but they were at least respectful. Of course then they broke up and the two were constantly trying to talk him into meeting some business partners daughters or asking if he had met anyone at the firm. Just more stress to add on top of everything else that lead to his breakdown.

And to think, he never had told them about his new job.
