He clasps Theodor's hands. "There is so much beauty in existence, don't you agree? In the rotations of the heavens or the gyrations of bacteria, in a newborn's life or a lover's touch. To give up all control is to cut oneself off from remembering these things, or appreciating them fully. Isn't it worth some pain, to understand the universe better?"
