"Y-yeah. My sister can be loud and obnoxious and scary but we're close..." He shouldn't have been so mean to her before he died... "And my grandparents raised us. I don't have many friends my age so my family's all I got." And that includes his Pokemon too. He should have been nicer to all of them too. He really pushed them hard in his last few weeks of life...
