Ellarinne is aware that this world seems strange to some of her fellow newcomers, but apart from the barrier it seems quite normal to her. A fair mix of elves, humans, and dwarves, farmland and forest, a thriving sea full of fish to catch -- and, of course, incursions and interference from otherwordly beings bent on sowing chaos and strife.
This is unfortunately all too common on Azeroth.
But as any good adventurer or wandering champion knows, the first thing to do when you find yourself in a new area is to make friends and get to know people. She makes sure to stay alert as she dines in the Oak & Iron, commutes to her job at the dock, or visits to the notable sites of the island. In particular she keeps an eye -- shut up, it's a figure of speech -- out for anyone who looks particularly capable, anyone who seems as though they're in need of help...and anyone who seems even slightly familiar.
It's never easy after all, being a stranger in a strange land. Even if they're not her sort of elf at all, a familiar set of ears would be a comfort.
