"The city," she replies. "I'm told it was once quite vibrant and well loved by its people, that if I had seen it when it lived I would never forget the beauty. It now lies in ruins, quickly abandoned by those who once loved it."

Like Emseray, she feels a sadness thinking about what the city once was, though the Sphinx's pain had been deeper, having loved and lost an entire people.

"I have seen such things in my world, usually from some kind of approaching doom, but I saw no evidence of battle or natural disaster in the ruins."
