Oh, well... you see, Eddie is a polite man who looks at people when he's talking to them. So he notices the delay with that cough. But, also because he's a polite man, he's not going to pry about the cause.

"I suggest starting out with a few Cortland apple trees. The fruits can be used for a lot of different things, and they do well in cold storage." Eddie smiles. "But yes, start small, establish your best practices. Apples like full sun, and neutral soil -- nothing too alkaline or acidic. I can loan you a book on ways to adjust soil ph as well... and really, any questions you have, you can call on me by phone or the sending stones."

Eddie gives an inquiring look, "I think Town Hall hands those out to the new arrivals now? I was here before all that."
