Ruby hears the word 'tea', and for a moment there's a deer-in-the-headlights look on her face as she considers trying to say something— but by then the apprentice has run off, and so instead Ruby swallows the lump in her throat and tells herself it's fine. It's just tea. Normal tea. She likes tea!
"...thanks." She covers her face with both hands for a moment, breathes slowly in and out, trying to feel more like she's occupying her own skin. "I don't... I don't really know what I want, right now. I used to— I was one of the best weaponsmiths in my year. But I'm not— I'm not really right, right now. I-I'm almost worried about even asking for a weapon."
It's a little easier to be just a touch more truthful with people that don't really know her. Only a little, though.
