Though for all it appears her attention is on her book, Valdis keeps her senses spread around the room, touching each individual, memorizing their souls. A part of her draws back to the blond man on multiple occasions, but it's not until the barmaid sets a new glass of wine down and gestures to him that her full attention centers on him again. A small, amused smile crosses her face, and she shakes her head ever so slightly before meeting his gaze and inclining her head in thanks. Then she closes her book and sets it aside, picking up the glass to raise it in his direction. It's as much of an invitation she is going to offer him.
