"Oh my!" Mary exclaims, when the flower blooms. She reaches out and lightly touches the camellia, then looks at Mairi with surprise. "For me? Are you su-- I mean, thank you, but... I wasn't expecting a gift for talking to you."
She takes the flower with gentle fingers and then tucks it into her hair, close to one ear, with a hasty bit of braiding to hopefully secure it. She smiles brightly and asks,
