Once Mairi is firmly settled in his arms, Emery begins walking. Best to work up to it, rather than suddenly dash (he knows how disorienting that can be for a passenger).
But soon enough, he's running through the woods, leaping over larger roots and rocks to a clear portion that won't slow him down. (Regular wolves can run at a steady pace of 25 miles per hour for up to two hours; they can reach speeds of 38 miles per hour for short sprints. Emery in his hybrid form is no slouch either.)
He brings Mairi to a spot overlooking the lagoon where the feral hogs like to forage. It'll be easier for them to get an idea of the lay of the land from this vantage point.
"There's a few of 'em, see?" Emery asks after setting Mairi back on her feet. He points downward.
