"It's less about the material and more about the design, and the function," Mairi explains. "When I was alive, I had a set of matching pewter rings with my closest friends. After they died, it was... all I had left of them. It was just a simple leafy vine design and it was enchanted to make birdsong when struck. I don't know if you can enchant, but just the ring itself would mean a lot to me."
