1. Wake up and look out the window [Oh shit star monsters]
A trained combatant and Enforcer, Cerrit goes from diurnal to nocturnal and starts keeping watch on the clock tower, waiting for the constellations to strike at night. He's finally paid for proper handaxes, built to his exacting specifications. Night after night, he throws himself into the fray.

Better he put himself at risk than expect anyone else to. And if there's a ruthless desperation in how he fights, perhaps he's just dealing with frustration. Or perhaps he's used to having people who can watch his back, who cast shields and healing spells, but who aren't here now, and even without the Ring of Brass there's still work to be done.

Do you need a rescue? Here he comes to your aid. Are you awake when he drags himself back inside for the morning, bleeding, feathers ruffled? He makes for an interesting sight, like this.

2. Half the yard is burning and [Lighting shit on fire; CW: PTSD flashbacks]
Sunfire's Hearth means the light of fires is almost always visible out of the corner of Cerrit's eye. In the early evening hours, before the sky falls down, Cerrit might be found staring at the fire that isn't really that close to a building, wings pulled up tense against his back, silently staring.

Avalir fell and he remembers the acrid smell of smoke burning through the city and how it lurched as the engines started to give when the Tree of Names was blighted and the Lord of the Hells returned to Exandria and

3. The other half is covered in snow [Famine and related]
It is inevitable that Cerrit would take up hunting, especially after Vika's efforts had cleared the woods and made the task safer. While he's glad to help with hunts for larger game--boar, deer--he also returns to town more than once with geese or ducks. They're clearly animals that have been struggling with inability to migrate, not fatted and pampered, but they're food on offer. He's even willing to show others where the flocks might be found and hunted

Cerrit's one personal request is that he be allowed the hearts to eat raw. They're one of his favorite bits.

4. I'm sure today must be a minor holiday [Wildcard me, I dare you]
