Despite everything, despite how furious he is and despite how her cruel words trigger thoughts and associations he's long tried to ignore (his brothers never resented him for being a burden on the team, but maybe they should? How was it fair, that they had to do all their own jobs and protect him too?) First Aid still takes a step forward when something in Vika's chest crackles, a dripping hand reaching out to help. To heal. (He's only ever wanted to fix things so they'll stay unbroken.)
Vika snarls more cruelty and nihilism, and his hand drops. "You're wrong," he says quietly, voice shaking up and down the register. "You're wrong, and I -- I'm doing my best to be understanding. Because I know you've been traumatized by your past. But there are limits, Vika. Even metal breaks under too much stress. I need you to leave now."
He forces himself to add, "If you need repairs later, have Bart call me and I'll come to you. But I need you to leave me alone. Right now."
